Web1 Aug 2007 · PEREZ AND ZERAH (Genesis 38) Judah chose Tamar as a wife for his oldest son Er. She was to conceive a son to carry on the Lineage. Er died childless, so Tamar married Judah’s second son, Onan, according to Torah (Deut 25:5). God caused both Er and Onan to die because of their sins.
