Another thing that may be in the way is the front axle. Also, the correct procedure for installing an oil pan is with the engine upside down for 24 hours so oil dripping from the engine doesn't contaminate the curing RTV.

Prior to removing the oil pan, you will need to remove: water pump, radiator, fan, belts, timing chain cover, timing chain... so that you can unscrew a 10mm bolt connecting the oil feeder tube to the pump.
