I think that the more the closed the grip is, the more stable the aim though. With a heavier varmint rifle I like closed grips, with lighter rifles that need to get on target fast I like open grips. My 358 BLR (old style) is a straight grip. My 223's are heavier closed pistol grips.

Its the top of the line for lever actions, much smoother -- really in a totally different class -- from my Marlin levers in .44mag.
